Hello Parents!

Welcome to our newest classroom blog! View our gallery of photos and see what we have been doing! Included are some photos from our Valentine’s Day celebration, Elizabeth’s Birthday Walk, auction project painting, Ms. Sara’s circle time, and everyday work. There are a few new works in the classroom. The Kindergarteners and a few of our Second Year friends have begun making Friendship Bracelets. Eloise is teaching her friends how to make them! We have added art appreciation language cards, seashell matching, four seasons language and picture cards, a new counting work with fancy glass stones, and we have added two colors of paint to the painting easel.

We are so very grateful the children are able to come together each day for socialization and growth. After recent Parent Conference conversations (thank you all for taking the time to meet with Ms. Sara and I on the 4th and 11th), I have come to realize that many of our children are not seeing or playing with other children outside of school. Here’s the good news, Sarah Sweeney Denham has given families the green light to get together for play dates. Please reach out to someone in our class and set up a time to meet up after school or on the weekend. Now that the weather is getting warm, one idea might be meeting outside at a local park. Sister Cities Park (210 N. 18th St., 19103) and Taney Park (400 S. Taney St. at Pine St., 19146) are popular choices for play dates. I regularly pass by Roberto Clemente Park (1800 Mt. Vernon St, 19130) on my bike ride home. Each time I ride by I say to myself, “What good climbing equipment”. There are any number of safe and well equipped parks and playgrounds in the city of Philadelphia so invite a friend and get out there for some fun!

Please be in touch with any questions, ideas, or concerns. We’d really like to hear from you!
