It’s been two years since the Greene Towne community has come together for our social event of the season, our fundraising auction! And for many, this may be their first ever Greene Towne auction. What should we wear? What will it be like? What is a “paddle raise” anyway? Read on!

What to Expect at the Live Auction

We are so excited to welcome everyone back to the Auction in person! Greene Towne’s fundraising auction is a great chance to dress up and have a fun night out with our parent community, while celebrating the children’s collaborative artwork and providing important support for the school.

Held this year at Victory Brewing Company – Philadelphia on the Parkway, we’ll have the run of the second floor and terrace. Dress attire is business casual & up. The bulk of the event will occur outdoors, so please dress comfortably with the weather in mind.

Upstairs inside you’ll find heavy appetizer stations and a bar, as well as a preview of the students’ artwork—the star of the show. There’s another bar located on the terrace, where the Live Auction will take place.

Please note that masks are required for the indoor portion of the event. Outdoors is guest preference.

Our Paddle Raise this year will support musical education for all Greene Towne students! The Paddle Raise is a special opportunity to fund a special enhancement to Greene Towne’s program. Think of it as crowdsourcing for a good cause! This year, the paddle raise will fund the purchase of a full set of Montessori Bells for each Primary classroom, and interactive outdoor musical play equipment (to be installed on our new roofdeck) for our toddlers.

Silent Auction & Registering to Bid

The silent auction is open now! Visit the auction website to view and bid on special experiences, concert and sports tickets, and more. The silent auction will close on Friday at 8pm.

For Live Auction Attendees: You will set up your bid registration when you purchase your tickets. You will receive a welcome text after your purchase and registration is complete.

Please note that if you are purchasing multiple tickets, you are only registering yourself to bid. Other auction attendees will need to register separately in order to bid.

Setting up an Auto-Bid

Through the mobile bidding platform and GiveSmart website, you will have the option to set up an auto-bid. Auto-bid enables you to set a price ceiling on items and if you are outbid, your bid will be automatically be raised to the next incremental bid. Each item will have a different minimum raise that you can view on its page. The auto-bid process will continue until you hit your price ceiling. You will have the option to opt-in to a higher bid if you are outbid after hitting your price ceiling if you so wish!

Closing Bids: At the end of the auction, certain items will feature an extended close. Any items that have been bid on within 90 seconds prior to the close of the silent auction will extend beyond close for 90 seconds. These items will continue to be open until no bid has been placed within the last 90 seconds.

Once items are closed, you will receive a notification from GiveSmart alerting you that you’ve won! You will be able to pay for your items via GiveSmart and expedite the check-out process.

Claiming Your Items

At the end of the live auction, please stop by the check-out where Christina will be available to help you pick up your live auction winnings! Check-out will be open near the top of the steps to exit Victory.

Any items not picked up will be returned to GTMS and will not be available for pickup until Monday, May 23rd. Please come prepared to bring your live auction items home on event night!

Silent auction items will be sent home the week of May 23rd, or delivered via email where applicable.
