You will hear us say this a lot, but it’s true: Greene Towne is powered by parents! Throughout the school year there are several opportunities for parents to help as little or as much as they would like. The Volunteer sign up is on your MyGTMS Dashboard, simply scroll down to the bottom.
Here is an overview of opportunities for your review:
The Greene Towne Parent Association (GPA) is actively seeking volunteers for its 4 committees. The GPA provides wonderful opportunities to get involved with our school and community, and it is a great way to make new friends.
SOCIAL (co-chairs Jenna Braunstein & Julie Shuster): plan events such as the fall, winter & spring family socials at the Rail Park, Franklin Square Park & Smith Memorial Playground, parent happy hours, spring break scavenger hunt
DIB (chair Nahla Khalek): promote diversity library, plan Social Justice Week, increase diversity awareness, spotlight holidays & traditions in weekly bulletins.
COMMUNITY SERVICE (chair Liv Lee): organize food, book & toy drives, MLK day of service, clean your park Earth Day event.
PARENT EDUCATION (chair Kerry Stouffer): coordinate learning sessions for parents on various topics such as family nutrition, estate planning, managing toddler behavior, etc.
The Greene Towne Annual Auction (co-chairs Jessica Boonswang, Lauren Friedman & Mindy Previtera): The Auction is the event of the year! Help plan our largest annual fundraising event – a gala with silent & live auctions featuring donations & experiences from local businesses and amazing student artwork.
School-Wide Activities: Help organize Staff Appreciation Day and volunteer for Earth Week!
